Sugar City (line 80)
The former site of the CSM Sugar Factory is under redevelopment and how! Event venues, office space, a casino, a hotel, a supermarket and from autumn 2020 a true fashion outlet, Amsterdam The Style Outfits, with as many as 115 shops. Shop till you drop! An impressive area focused on the future.
New Water Supply Dunes (line 80)
The Amsterdam Water Supply Dunes is a dune area between Zandvoort and Noordwijk, which has been set up for the extraction of drinking water for the city of Amsterdam; fifty million cubic metres of drinking water flow through this 3400-hectare area every year. In this dune area, exclusively intended for hikers, you can enjoy nature and tranquillity. You can wander off the beaten track, which is fun when you're with children. If you pay close attention, you may spot fallow deer.
IJmuiden (line 382 from Amsterdam Sloterdijk and 385 from Haarlem)
IJmuiden, a place of raw beauty: rugged beaches where you can enjoy wind and water sports, wide dunes hiding the bunkers of the past, and an impressive lock complex with boats and ships. IJmuiden is cool, especially in stormy weather.
Tip: Take a look at Fort IJmuiden (Sundays only). This fort is half submerged in the mouth of the North Sea Canal. The Sea and Harbour Museum is definitely also worth a visit for anyone interested in the history and development of the North Sea Canal and IJmuiden, fisheries,
and maritime activities.
SnowWorld Amsterdam (line 382)
Winter in the Netherlands? That is what you will find at SnowWorld Amsterdam! Here you can ski and snowboard in real snow almost all year round. Three lifts and two slopes, a fun park, two restaurants and après-ski... all at approx. 20 minutes from Amsterdam. The feeling of a skiing holiday for a moment. Lovely!
You can rent equipment here, book lessons or of course go skiing or snowboarding by yourself. It's up to you.
NP South Kennemerland (line 81)
National Park South Kennemerland is one of the largest nature reserves in the Netherlands. Walking or cycling through the dunes, you pass lakes, woods, plains and viewpoints. With a bit of luck you can spot fallow deer, rabbits or a highland cow from these vantage points. Through the woods you can see the sea shine. A beautiful piece of nature where you enjoy peace and quiet and space.
